The Father Feeds Them
Matthew 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
God’s Provision
This verse is taken from a section of Scripture in which Jesus is talking about the divine provision of the heavenly Father. More specifically, He is talking about not taking anxious thought or being troubled and worried about the natural things that all people have need of for survival in this world.
The Father Knows
What it comes down to is trust in the heavenly Father to provide for our daily needs. In verse 32 of this same section of Scripture in Matthew chapter 6, Jesus assures us that “, . . your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.”
Isn’t it at least a little comforting to know that the Father is aware of our needs? We are not in this thing alone. And he says in verse 26 that God provides for the birds, and that we are far more important to Him than they are. Surely He will provide for us.
But Rather Seek His Kingdom
Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The LORD promises to meet our needs, to supply them to us, if we will make it a priority to seek His kingdom. We must recognize this as a promise from the LORD.
Begin today to seek understanding of His kingdom, and His right way of doing things, through meditation in His word, and He promises to make a way for us to have the things we need.
