Believe in God
Daniel 6:23
Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
Faith in God
Daniel believed in his God. The power of faith in God is amazing. Daniel was saved from a den of hungry lions, because he believed in his God.
Faith in God is vital to us. One Scripture verse says that Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness. The Bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. In other words, we must have faith to even please Him. So, it is apparent that there is great benefit in having faith in God.
The Faith of God
But how do we have faith? Jesus told His disciples to have faith in God, or to have the faith of God. How does one have the faith of God, or, that is, the kind of faith that God has? Well, we must first determine what God has faith in. God has faith in the words that He has spoken. His words are truth. One Scripture says that God magnifies His word above His name.
Faith Comes by Hearing
God has placed His faith within His word. Paul, the Apostle, tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith doesn’t come by praying for it, but by hearing the word of God.
What has God spoken about the type of situation we’re in? What has God promised that He would do for us? Only when we know what God has promised with His own words can we begin to believe for Him to save us from our situation, as Daniel was saved from his.
Make it a priority today and every day to search out the Scriptures, and hear what God has spoken in His word, the things He has promises that He would do in our behalf. And as we do that, faith will begin to rise up in our hearts, and confidence and hope will replace every doubt, and every fear.
