The Workers of Iniquity
Psalm 37:1-2
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Evildoers
It seems that, in this world, there are many who do well for themselves by means that are less than godly and honest. It has even been said that there is a lot of money to be made in darkness. Drug dealing, prostitution, human trafficking, and other such illicit activities can produce large amounts of revenue for those involved in them.
And, even if one is not involved in these types of obviously wicked activities, there are many who make their living through shady wheeling and dealing, taking advantage of people at every opportunity.
Fret Not
The Bible tells us not to be angry or grieved because of evildoers, and not to be jealous or envious of those who profit greatly through questionable means. Psalm 37:2 tells us that they will soon be cut down like the grass, and shall wither away like green vegetation.
Wait Upon the LORD
Psalm 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Here are two of the promises of God. Evildoers shall be cut off. And those who wait upon the LORD shall inherit the earth. The choice of lifestyle should be an easy one.
Wait upon the LORD today. Develop a relationship with Him around His word. Meditate in His promises, and look to Him for His guidance and instruction for your life. Those who look to Him can expect a good future.
