Righteous in Him
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
A New Creature
If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, a species of being who never existed before, a man or woman whose spirit is joined with the eternal God. For the Bible says that he who is joined to the LORD is one spirit with the LORD.
It would do well for us to boldly confess that, “I am a new creature. I am in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new. I live in newness of life.” Saying that, in and of itself, would change our day for the better.
Righteous by Faith
And in Him we are righteous, made that way by faith in the free gift of righteousness given in Christ Jesus. This is a difficult truth for folks to grasp. We’re so busy trying to earn right-standing with God, that we often fail to understand that it cannot be earned. But God, in His mercy, saved us from that condition, forgave our sins, and gave us righteousness through faith is Christ.
It says that God made Him, Christ Jesus, to be sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. He knew no sin, and we knew no righteousness. But through faith in the finished work of Calvary, the exchange is made.
I Am the Righteousness of God
Say it today with boldness. “I am a new creature in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away. I am not the same old creature I use to be. I am now the righteousness of God in Him. And I am growing in that righteousness, walking by faith day by day. Amen.”
