The Perfect Law of Liberty
James 1:25
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Doers of the Word
The time we spend in the word of God, the perfect law of liberty, has a strong impact on how much of the blessing of the LORD is in our lives. But that is true only to the extent that we obey the word, or, that we put action to it in our life.
The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But it also tells us that faith without corresponding actions is dead. The faith that we receive from the word does not do us much good, if we are not doers of it.
Pondering the Word
God told Joshua to meditate in the law of the LORD, the word of God, both day and night, so that he might observe to do all that was written in it. And then he would make his way prosperous, and have good success.
So, it is in looking into the perfect law of liberty, the meditating in and pondering of the word of God, that causes us to observe and see and perceive how to do it, how to act upon it, how to implement it in our lives. And, as James 1:25 says, the man who does this shall be blessed in his deed. This man shall know the blessing of the LORD in and upon his life.
Take some time today to look into the perfect law of liberty, to meditate in the word of God. Jesus said that if we continued in His words, then we would be His disciples, and we would know the truth, and it would make us free. Let the word bring some of heaven’s freedom into your life today.
