His Compassions Fail Not
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV)
Every morning of our lives brings something new. Yesterday is gone, and another day lies before us. With each new day comes this amazing promise: God's compassions never fail.
We may fail. We may make mistakes or look back upon yesterday wishing we had done things differently. But God's faithfulness is not determined by our previous mistakes. His mercy flows wholly from His own unchanging goodness.
Jeremiah says His mercies are "new every morning." We do not have to live today beneath the weight of yesterday. We can come before the Lord, receive His mercy, and start over again.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31 KJV)
What an encouraging way to face each new day. Before we encounter the first problem, make the first decision, or face the first challenge, God's mercy is already there.
Whatever yesterday looked like, today is another opportunity to walk with the Lord. Receive His mercy, trust His goodness, and move forward with confidence.
His compassion has not run out. His faithfulness has not changed. And He is still for us. His mercies are new again today.
