Forget Not All His Benefits

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
(Psalm 103:2 KJV)

It is easy to remember our problems and overlook God's blessings. The pressures of daily life can draw our attention to what is lacking instead of all the Lord has already done for us. David, in this Psalm, reminds himself to "forget not all His benefits."

The verses that follow describe many of those wonderful benefits. God forgives all our sins, heals all our diseases, redeems our lives from destruction, crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies, and satisfies us with good things, so that our youth is renewed. Every blessing we enjoy comes from Him.

A thankful heart keeps God's goodness in view. The more we remember His faithfulness in the past, the easier it becomes to trust Him for the future. Gratitude strengthens our faith because it continually reminds us that God has never failed us.

Take a few moments today to give thanks to the Lord for His many benefits, and for all the good things He has done in your life. The more we give Him thanks for what He has already done, the more grateful our hearts become, and the wider we open the door for more of His amazing blessings.
