Peace in Every Situation

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-7 KJV)

God never intended for worry to rule our hearts and minds. Instead of carrying our anxieties , He invites us to give every concern to Him in prayer. When we cast our cares upon Him, He carries the load for us. Nothing is too great for His power, and nothing is too small for His affectionate care.

Notice that Paul says, "in every thing." There is no situation beyond God's attention. Whatever troubles us is important enough to bring it to Him. As we let our requests be made known to Him, the battle of worry and anxiety in our minds will change.

God promises something even greater than merely our circumstances being changed. He promises that His divine peace will guard our hearts and minds. It is a heavenly peace that cannot be understood by human reasoning because it comes directly from Him.

If anxious thoughts arise today, let them become reminders to pray. As you place every concern into God's hands, and leave them there, you will allow His perfect peace to fill your heart.
